bloggeritis?

I've been trying to post an entry for 3 days now and it's not working. I've lost entire posts. I'm not really sure whether it's Blogger or my ISP since we lose cable every now and then, including several hours last night. I'm frustrated as hell since I can only perch here at my puter for so long at a time.

I've got some knitting news--finished the embossed leaves socks, started thinking about the layout for the boatload of fish that will somehow manage to tesselate (can "tesselate" be a verb?) and helped Em figure out how to split sock toes so she can wear her socks with flip-flops (she's 15, don't ask)--
but no knitting pics at the moment. So here's a pictorial clue as to how I've been spending my time (and money!) lately.

After reopening my incision two weeks ago and then battling the subsequent infection, I'm feeling much better now. In fact, my son Alex and I built a "cat loft" in my laundry room today. I can't show you because we left a huge mess. I need to finish cleaning up and organize all the crap stuff first.

Patti: about those fish? I'm not much of a seamstress (see here) but was thinking of using an overcast stitch in yarn matching one of the fish I'm joining. Though I also thought of maybe single crocheting around all the fish in a color I haven't used (dark blue?) and then sewing them all together with that same color. That sounds like way more work than I have ambition these days. Maybe the sewing fairy will take pity on us both and offer to join them for us? ;-)

Dawn in PawPaw: Unfortunately, one of three shops in the Kazoo area recently closed--Just Knit It was out by the Cadillac Ranch at Sprinkle and Gull.

Besides Stitching Memories, there's--
Handweavers Inspiring Yarn Shop, owned by Jaime & Marjan Marsman,
3062 South 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009,
269.353.5905,

this one's here in Battle Creek but she doesn't have a large stock, half or more of her shop is devoted to fabric and quilting--
The Quiltery
1540 East Columbia Avenue, Battle Creek, MI 49014,
616.965.2116

I've never been to this one in Marshall--
In Sheep's Clothing
100 Exchange Street, Marshall, MI 49068,
616.789.1210,

or this one in Lansing, though I hear it's really nice--

Hi, I have been to In Sheep's Clothing in Marshall Some of the workers are nicer than others but there is a shop in Charlotte that is just wonderful. http://yarngardencharlotte.com/. It would be a bit of a drive from Paw Paw. My first trip there was a few weeks ago. I am ready to go back.

Oh dear, I think those fish are destined to LIVE in the paper bag they are currently stacked up neatly in, forever. Everytiime I think about joining them together I get a weird twitch... I tried a 3 needle bind off sort of thing, but wasn't happy with how that turned out, so I ripped it out, and back they went into the paper bag... sigh... There is lesson here somewhere... PattiO

Hi! I was going to add that the one in Marshall is nice, although they don't have that much yarn, especially for the drive.

But Threadbear in Lansing is sooo worth the drive!

Happy Knitting!
