knitting under the influence

So. I haven't been able to sit since my surgery last week. It's kept me off the net pretty much, other than a few short sessions on my knees draped over the back of my desk chair to check email. I had plans to fill my downtime with mindless fish knitting. Something that wouldn't require too many pain and pain-med addled brain cells. Something that wouldn't embarrass me too much when inspected closely with a clearer head.

But the Winter '05 Interweave Knits Plucky so kindly sent me was right here next to my chair and Embossed Leaves (Mona Schmidt) called to me. And my Secret Pal gifts were sitting right here too. I'm not exactly sure at this point whether the yarn and pattern are the best match and I've had to keep a numbered checklist for the charting. But I'm liking them. Even though I can't reach my feet to try them on.

My keyboard needs cleaning. Desperately.

Call or e-mail me if you need any help of any kind at all. I know you've told me where you live, but it's all vague to me now. I've made cookies I could bring over should I finally remember just which street you're on. Casserole? Pizza delivery?

I'm a fellow knitter out reading blogs and noticed you are from Battle Creek, MI. I am from Paw Paw (exit 60 on I94). I often shop at Stitching Memories for my knitting supplies in Kalamazoo. Do you have any other recommendations for shopping? If so, perhaps you could mention it in your next blog entry!! Like you, I also love to make socks.

Ok about those fish... I have a BAG full of those darn cute fish, and I'm totally stumped on how to put them all together. I'm seriously considering taking them out back and throwing them in the creek and letting them fend for themselves. My downfall? Finishing techniques.. PLS HELP! I would like to finish this afghan in this lifetime!

Those socks are lovely. I hope your butt recovers soon, it sounded so painful just reading about your fall.
