Gatlinburg

My group of email list friends rented a mountain cabin in Gatlinburg, TN for a long weekend. This was our second annual get-together (the first was Las Vegas 1/05). I almost didn't go because Peter was home from Mexico for a rare week and I hated to not spend that time with him. But he insisted and so did my friends. I'm really glad I went. I really needed the time away to just have fun and relax. It was good to catch up in person and we had such a wonderful time.

I took the camera but only got a few pics, none of us all together. So here are a few where I was just messing with the camera.

In knitting news...

I took my red socks, along with some extra circs and yarn for dishcloths, in my entrelac knitting bag on the planes. Even though I'd checked current security regs, I was a little nervous. The only comment was from one security person, "Someone's making a blanket." Nope. Socks. He smiled.

I didn't pick up my needles the whole time at the house. Drunken knitting really isn't my thing. I did knit on both planes going down and a little bit while waiting at both Knoxville and Atlanta airports coming back (twelve freaking hours from Knoxville, MI to Kalamazoo, MI) . I even got my friend Les to knit a few rows while we sat outside the Knoxville airport. I think we were both kind of tired of talking and laughing at that point. *smile* (see, I can do that again without my face aching)
