MIchigan FIber Fest

Socks that Rock
from The Fold
August 2008 055
laceweight
from Yarn Hollow
August 2008 056
8 oz natural dark alpaca with teal wool
August 2008 046
6 oz natural CVM top
August 2008 048
and some bartering...
I don't remember the fiber contents of these but I traded a spindle and a bit of cash with Amy of Jehovah Jireh for these gorgeous rovings

I don't know how I missed it on Saturday but I fell in love with Gypsy, the alpaca's ( 1 lb, 9 oz) fleece (from Meadowsong Alpacas) on Sunday while pointing things out to Kazoo Shannon.
August 2008 051
She snatched it up and offered to split it with me but my sad face (want it, want it, WANT IT!) and the offer of a few spindles convinced her to send it on home with me (Em and I are carding up a little something special to share with Shannon). The color's somewhere in between the two pics but...oooh, look at the crimpy crimp!

I can't tell you how much I love, love the square spindle. So worth it. I'm spinning up some of that white/pink/purple roving I got for Nan. It spins beautifully, but feels like crap...LOL Definitely an outerwear kind of yarn.
