caution? what's that?

I'm sitting here watching Ellen, today's theme seems to be be careful what you wish for. Uh, yeah. Be careful. Seriously.

Back when I was a divorced mom of three and full-time college student, whenever I'd get frustrated with the kids, I'd stop dead in whatever I was doing to yell, "I NEED SIX MORE KIDS. RIGHT NOW!"

So. I broke my hand, was forced to take a med leave from school, finally had the free time to figure out the computer I'd bought to use for school, and met my husband on the internet. He had four kids (two grown, two young). Five days after our first anniversary, our twins were born. Count 'em...six. Six. more. kids.

OK, it wasn't quite "right now" and it wasn't quite what I meant...but I got what I-- apparently, to someone with a twisted sense of humor--wished for.

Be careful what you wish for. And, if you know me, you might want to keep a little distance. I'm just sayin'.

(note: for those who care, I'm up to my old tricks of back-dating posts I didn't have time to write when I meant to...scroll down to April 21 to catch up)
