ghosts of projects past

Em and I were talking about when I first started knitting. I might have made a scarf but I don't remember ever making one. I remember making up a tunic type sweater I designed as I knit. And then I fell in love with a pattern in a book. I was around 14 (um, that was 30 yrs ago), it was lace and I never thought I would be able to make it. But my mom surprised me one day and took me out to a store where they sold "good yarn" (higher end acrylic) and she bought all the shades of white, gray and black yarn for my coveted afghan.

I worked and worked and worked until all the knitting was done. Then I looked at all those ends needing to be sewn in, folded it up and put it away in a box. Every time I've moved, I've pulled out that afghan, looked at all the ends hanging out, folded it back up in another box. Yesterday, I was poking around in the garage and pulled out a storage tub labeled "unfinished projects."

it's queen-sized!

I think it's high time I sew in the ends on both of these, don't you?

Abi's already claimed the crochet one. It's got some faded spots, seems like I had it folded somewhere the sun hit it? She doesn't mind. All the kids are begging for the knit one but that's going on my bed...even though it doesn't go with anything in my room.

I really should make my bed before I throw things on it to take pictures to share with you. I'll get some better pics when the sunshine decides to return.

Absolutely beautiful! I'm especially envious of the knit one!
