Sock Books *sob*

We stopped at B&N in Kazoo last night so I could look for a couple of sock books I wanted. They had one (Socks, Socks, Socks...70 patterns, including several for kids...gorgeous!) but not the other (Knitting on the Road). I picked up Knitting Vintage Socks to look through while we had Starbucks. Oooh, yummy! Both the book and the cappuccino.

Peter suggested I only get the one book of the two I was looking for, since I only had one discount offer (a 15% sticker). Though I actually had TWO discount offers, one was an extra 10% off (in addition to my member discount--Peter renews my membership every year as a Christmas gift) a $50 purchase. OK, I got Socks, Socks, Socks and sadly parted with Vintage Socks and another knitted gifts book.

So, today, Blue linked to Knitty.com (It's not a new one, is it? The sweater I want to make--cinxia --is still there.) and I see they've featured Vintage Socks under "I want, I want, I want--cool stuff." Mention it to Peter. He's at his computer and apparently looks up the book because he says, "That book JUST came out. You should have gotten it."

Dammit.

Socks, Socks, Socks + Knitting Vintage Socks + the knitted gift book = no doubt enough to have used my extra %10 off (in addition to my member discount, don't forget) offer

Now, when I go back (he's not watching me type this, is he?) I'm going to have to find another book to add up to enough. Maybe our local B&N has Knitting on the Road?

You most definitely need Lucy Neatby's Cool Socks Warm Feet. The mermaid pattern is to die for. So freakin' cute. Wonder if your B&N has that?
