Em socks--That was then, this is now

I haven't showcased any of Em's (my 14 yo) work lately. She just (as in 5 minutes ago) finished her latest pair of socks. She wanted a really cool pattern for her Cherry Tree Hill vacation yarn. While I was looking for a pattern for Kristen's (who, by the way, my son tells me will no longer be part of the family soon *sob*) socks, I saw these River Rapids Socks and immediately thought of Em's yarn. She stopped looking for a pattern when I showed her.

So, she grafted the toes (ungrafting and reknitting the end of one to make it a bit longer) and brought them down to show me. Even unblocked, they're really beautiful. The pattern perfect for the yarn.

I was struck by just how far she's come in her knitting. I'd unearthed her first sock ever (which never got a mate, I'm sure you can see why) while sorting my stash and had to make a comparison.

Wow.

WOW! Em did a great job on those socks! Tell her she inspired me to try the same pattern. It's my first attempt at knitting a sock on 2 circs. Em has improved her sock knitting so much, it's impressive!
