Abi's other poncho

Liz posted asking for help with a poncho pattern and the next thing I know, I'm crocheting along. I used Bernat Baby Coordinates (more snaggy yarn *twitch* though not as bad as Homespun) that I already had for some reason. The nylon thread running through it gives a nice sheen.

I got about 2/3 around with the bottom ruffle last night before my hands gave out. I finished it up this morning. If my Abi wasn't such a little girly-girl, I wouldn't even bother with the ruffle. It looked fine when I'd just single crocheted around the bottom. I definitely won't do the shell edging (that you can't really see) around the neck on another one (maybe a row of sc, ending with a row of reverse sc?). Even though I switched to a smaller hook to make it a bit tighter, it wants to flop outward. It's so pretty, I don't think it really needs fuss at both ends.

Again, the neckline is bigger than I'd like on her. She wanted to wear it to school today so I didn't have time to make a drawstring. I threaded some ribbon through for now. I made it a little longer than the first poncho. As she grows, I can remove the ribbon/string and it'll hang lower.

Now I'm going to make two for my friend's daughters in white.

But first, her Easter bunny needed a poncho to match.

(This pattern has mistakes that took Liz and I hours to figure out. I'll post a link to it if the author makes necessary corrections.)
