Hail Caesar!

In keeping with my high fiber diet, Em and I bought Caesar's (a white Corriedale who lives in Ann Arbor, MI) 8 lb fleece (among other things) at the Spinner's Flock fleece fair last Saturday.

This is the very dirtiest part of the fleece

All the dirt came out but I'm still trying to clean the very yellowest parts a little better.
Most of Caesar's--unwashed--fleece looks like these locks

Amazingly clean and just lovely.
I am almost unbearably happy washing and combing this sheep's fur.
Who knew?

Lovely! Even the not-so-white part.

Someday I would love to do the whole fleece to yarn process but I am not sure about how my allergies would like it.

It looks great! I'm really surprised at the difference between raw and washed fleece... although it is interesting spinning with unwashed fleece (I love the smell), though I still use combed tops etc for my spindles ;)
