Look...it's a garterlac dishcloth!
Yeah. Whatever. Been there, done that.
Oh, but this is a different garterlac dishcloth.
More different than any garterlac dishcloth I've ever made...and I've made LOTS (just ask Dave...who is now in Ravelry, by the way).
Anyway, check this...
No, NOT the dirty thumbnail (I was staining spindles).
Need a clue? I'm a 30+ year, diehard thrower. But I'm knitting (yeah, so what if it's only misshapen dishcloths?) continental! I've vowed to replace all of our now ratty handknit dishcloths, knitting strictly continental.
I've heard ambidextrous knitting is a handy skill for colorwork. It's been awhile since I did any fairisle.

YAY!!! As a reformed thrower (my speed increase twofold) I salute you! It is so good to have a couple knitting tricks up your sleeve.
BTW, I am going to have a little something for you after the holidays. :) I am so excited, heeheehee....
I'm a reformed thrower too. Not only is it faster but it's MUCH gentler on the wrists.
I will admit to continuing to be a thrower when I'm working a row with lots of switching between knitting and purling because I still don't have even tension in that situation but an all purl or all knit row is now done continental.
I throw with the right hand yarn, and pick with the left hand yarn when I knit color work - nice and fast for me.
I'm the opposite of Lady -- I get terrible wrist pain in the right hand if I trying working purely continental. Remnant of an old wrist break, I think.
