pathetic

My knitting progress, that is. Sitcom Chic is lolling around with one edge and the neckline unfinished. I had every intention of finishing her while on vacation, remember? I even bought really cool buttons at beach yarn stores (which I will show you when Peter isn't sleeping in the same room they're stashed in). But when I started picking up stitches on the right front (after picking up, knitting and casting off stitches on the left front), my needle (Knitpicks Option #5, I think?) slipped out and fell into the deep little space between my seat and the door of the van. I couldn't reach it and we were driving 70 mph so I sure wasn't opening the door.

I took knitting and spinning to CT for Tom's wedding but I didn't get much of either done (some spinning on the plane). I just couldn't figure out how to disguise my knitting bag to fit "formal." My teeny little beaded clutch wasn't big enough to even hold socks, can you imagine??

Speaking of socks--I can't believe I finally got some Cherry Tree Hill Supersock of my very own, brought it home and promptly started a pair of Monkeys...in KnitPicks Sock Memories (which they don't seem to sell anymore...in Yukon, which they don't seem to sell anymore).

It's been almost two years since I bought the yarn for Kristen's socks and fell in love with CTH Supersock. You'd think I couldn't wait to get this stuff on the needles. You'd think. Maybe it's like the basil merino/silk I've been spinning forever. I'm trying to stretch it out as long as possible. It's going to be a sad day when I spin the last of it.

Speaking of spinning (as if that isn't almost all I talk about these days), I was asked why I don't do more traditional, fiber-related designs on my spindles. Like...sheep.

That actually made me laugh out loud, that sheep. Hilarious!
