wouldn't you know

A package of lovely fiber came in from Yarn or a Tale yesterday.

Leah included a sample of her Kid Clouds

which is an entirely different type/prep of fiber than I've used before. I can't wait to play with it. But I don't have a free spindle.

I feel like the shoemaker's child. :-(

That's it--the next one you make has to be all your own.

Oh, and I had mine at the Art Center's art fair a couple of weekends ago. There were many interested bystanders, and a few said they'd be interested in a class using your spindles this fall.

Me AGAIN! Hee hee. See, you stalked me to my blog (did you google me, or something) and now I've stalked you right back here!

I spent some quality time with my spindle last night, and spun up... uhm.. maybe an ounce? of custom dyed merino from Copperpot. It's just beautiful... like your Gumball, but with purple instead of blue. I love it!

I'm getting the hang of it more and more, but while sometimes my drafting is near-perfect, and just keeps flowing and flowing, other times it wants to lump up and be much thinner. I did manage, for a while last night, to spin up some very consistent yarn that was about the thickness of what you had left on the spindle from your practise. That felt VERY good!

More spinning tonight... I'm planning on a bit of time each day, but I guess I'll need to order more fibre...
