no weigh!

Wugh.

I ordered a shipping scale so that I can print postage from PayPal for my spindle orders. It arrived last Weds. I plugged it in with the included ac adaptor...nothing. I installed the included battery...nothing. I tried a different battery. Still nothing. It doesn't work.

Last night, Kai brought me the small digital scale I use to weigh spindles (and also my bobbins, to get them relatively even for plying). I keep it on the table with my ball winder, swift and lazy kate. He said he found it in with his clean clothes. No biggie, just put it back. So I went to weigh a spindle whorl this evening and...error code. Finally find the instruction paper and the code apparently means the scale is unbalanced. Or it's screwed. Or something. In any case, it doesn't work.

So. I searched around for the dieter type scale I had before Peter brought the cool mini digital one home for me. Couldn't find it. After about an hour of looking, Peter decided to help. He found it on top of the fridge. Guess what? It. Doesn't. Work. Anymore. Either.

No scale = no weighing of whorls, spindles or bobbins. I am at a plying/spindle-making standstill. I feel like someone cut off my arm or something.

Eh, I guess I can knit (wow, knitting, how original!). Fortunately, I didn't really lose an arm because I have two Sitcom Chic sleeves going at once on two circs.

Did Kai run into Stephen and learn how to mess any and all electronics up? I'm so sorry that happened. I have a scale, but I'm not sure how accurate it is, if you want to borrow one.
