Um, I can't really afford knitting books right now. But our local B&N has a table of craft books on sale. The Vogue Knitting Stitchionary vol. 1 and 2 are 30% (or maybe 20%?) off and I get another 10% off with my Member's Advantage card. Plus I have a sticker for an extra 15% off one item.
But...I can't really afford books right now.
So. I was going to get just one of the stitchionaries, using all the discounts. But Em and I couldn't decide which one (#1 would be great for socks, but #2 is cables...oooooh....CABLES!). I searched Sybermoms to see if our crafty hores have talked about them. And that's when I saw a post mentioning Crafter's Choice book club.
They've got vols. 1, 2, and 3 (colorwork, just came out)! Hmmm.
Even with shipping, and the choice of a 5th book at 50% off list (we added a preorder of Nicky Epstein's Knitting Beyond the Edge as our 4th and this as 5th, leaving just one more book to buy in the next year), the total was just over $27. Five books for less than what I'd have spent for the original two books on sale at B&N.
*happy dance*
Peter will be so happy when I tell him how much money I saved by not buying books at B&N, right?

I just joined that about a week ago -- unfortunately, my deal was only 3 books for $1 each and the 4th at 50% off. I only got Stitchionary 2, though. I'll grab 1 later, and maybe 3 one day but I'm not much into color work. I didn't see Stitchionary 1 until after I was all done with picking my books or that would have been one of my choices. I'm really looking forward to getting the books though. I ended up getting 4 books for $22 (that's including shipping) so you can't really beat that.
