Happy Mother's Day

I hope your day was as nice as mine...

My kids (7 of the 9, plus Dave's girlfriend, were home) went out for fresh bagels and made coffee before I got up. They also stopped and picked out individual flowers, arranging them in a lovely vase Alex paid for with his own money. I watched some movies with the older kids before taping Survivor while we watched Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy. Peter called from Mexico and I forgot to call my mom (I suck...sorry, Mom, you know I love you!).

With Peter's return to Mexico and Dave and Kristyn being sent out of state on a big job, I had to reschedule my surgery. It was just too much trying to figure out how I was getting back and forth to the hospital and the logistics of taking care of the twins afterwards. So I'll have it done on June 6th. Peter will be home that week, school will be out and I'll be able to recuperate without worrying how to get kids to school when I can't drive. I'm not thrilled with spending another 3 weeks in pain unrelated to recovery but...well...we do what we have to.

In knitting news, here's a clue (note the bits of green--Project Spectrum's color for May) to what I've been working on lately. Any guesses?

Looks like one of those tesselating fish afghans! Nice colors!

Thanks, I'm going for mostly blues/greens with some bright colors thrown in.

Knitting fish is a little addicting. I really should start figuring out how many I actually need before we end up with wall-to-wall fish carpet.
