I haven't mentioned those Olympic buttons over in my sidebar. I kept meaning to. But I felt I should have my project selected so I'd have more to say than simply, "Woo Hoo, I'm in the 2006 Knitting Olympics!!"
Well. Uh. Here it is, the day of the lighting of the flame and...
"Woo Hoo, I'm still freaking swatching for the Knitting Olympics!"
The yarn for garter stitch trimmed cardi is ugly.

And I can't get gauge. I probably could (and will, at some point) but I'm tired of trying right now. I'm running out of time.
The yarn for my alternate is purty, colorwise (color 651, I don't remember what it's called). Elann's Peruvian Highland Wool isn't very soft though. I think it'll be OK since it will always be worn over something else.
So. I'm swatching for Cinxia. With smaller needles, twisted stockinette and slip stitch pattern--it should be more of a challenge than the garter trimmed cardi anyway.

I thought of making that Cinxia when I bought some of the Classic Elite Renaissance they use in that. Boy, is that nice stuff.
Btw, how are things going? I really miss our knit nights, but I can't think of a better time than Sunday evenings (except tonight--still sick). Thoughts?
