I attempted to replace the caulking in our main bathroom (the only one with a tub/shower) last week. When I started scraping out the old caulk, "stuff" fell out from behind the tub surround. The more caulk I removed, the more "stuff" fell. Drywall. Lots of it. Now, any idiot knows you don't put plain drywall in a high moisture area. Except the idiot (our creepy landlord?) who installed this tub surround. Which I discovered wasn't adhered to the wall anyway. I can't imagine why not...um...wetwall, anyone?
What's behind wall #1?
Ick.
Fortunately, my son Dave was home for a visit. Off to Lowes we went. He did some measuring and cutting. I did some gluing and caulking. About $200 and 24 hours later...
Isn't it amazing what fresh caulk can do?

Looks great girlfriend! Is the landlord reimbursing you the cash? And a little for the time you spend doing it?
