These are for Peter's Christmas. I started to do one sock on one circ then thought maybe I'd like to try it on two instead. Once I got it cast on and actually looked at it, the two at once thing clicked. Previously, whenever I looked at instructions, there were just so many details my brain gave up as my eyes glazed over. I was so excited to just *get it* like that, I showed Em how to do it.

I bought this wool at the beach year before last. Pink, gray and turquoise--374 yards of it. What the hell was I thinking? Maybe I'll make myself some warm socks to wear while I knit. Um. LOTS of socks?
The Hefty Hybrid (AKA Al's sweater) is done! Well, I still need to do the duplicate stitch and seam the sleeves. A loverly lady responded to my plea in the knitty.com forum for a bit of yellow Wool-ease and I'll finish it up when it arrives.

Those socks look great! What a great idea, two at once like that. I'm such a dpn freak that I might never try it, but it's cool enough I just might. ;)
Yeah, my in-laws ended getting to our house right about then, so I couldn't get away and knit, as much as I wanted to. I missed knitting, too. :( At least I've gotten some knitting time in since then on a helmet liner so I haven't totally gone insane.
Hey, you knit for guys: what would you knit for a soldier who's in rehab after being badly wounded? He's only around twenty, I think, and I was supposed to knit him a helmet liner but hadn't gotten to it by the time he got wounded. I was thinking a hat and scarf set or socks. Which is better?
