Russian yarn and the red and black bag

While looking for wool for felting bags, I bid on and won some angora/wool blend yarn in an auction. I waited and waited, finally contacted the seller to find out why my yarn hadn't arrived. It was coming from Russia!? The seller was listed in Florida/Russia. Now why did I somehow think Russia was a small town in FL?

The yarn finally came seven weeks after shipping. It's very thin and feels like twine. Before bidding, I'd asked the seller if the yarn was worsted weight. She assured me it was. Ugh.

Well, it was here and I needed to do something with it. I finally combined a strand of the dark red with a strand of black Nature Spun wool and began a Booga Bag.

While seriously angry with my sock screw up, I set it aside and went back to the bag. I finished it up quickly. I wish I'd gotten a pic of it pre-felting. I have some more purpley-colored that I am going to try combining with a blue and I will definitely get a before pic. I really like the way this turned out. I'm not entirely thrilled with the crocheted flowers so they're just pinned on. We shall see.
